CALIFORNIA STATUTORY POWER OF ATTORNEY

A Power of Attorney (POA) allows an individual to handle transactions on behalf of another. If you become sick, or injured, and are unable to communicate, or handle your own affairs, you will want to have a power of attorney in place so that the attorney-in-fact (the one authorized through the POA to act on your behalf) can manage your affairs. You can create the POA to be as broad or narrow as you'd like.

This power of attorney is directly from the California Code. When a state gives you a form to use, it eliminates (or, at least, minimizes) the guess work wondering whether the form is valid. In addition, it's free.
